Lift Out Secondary Glazing

About Lift Out Secondary Glazing

A secondary glazing unit, is a separate pane of glass that sits as an extra layer on the inside of an existing window or door. It is usually used to offer the main window extra protection as well as added insulation from the elements – during the colder months – and extra protection from unwanted noise pollution.

Here at Sussex Glazing we offer a wide range of secondary glazing units, all of which have their different benefits. We install these units in both residential and commercial properties and they range from fixed units, to hinged and sliding, as well as a lift out option.

Lift out secondary glazing units

A lift out secondary glazing unit has an outer frame that is fixed to the face or reveal of the main window. The secondary panel can then be lifted directly out of this frame to allow for cleaning, maintenance or added ventilation if required.

And whilst the panel can be removed, lift out secondary glazing units do not have a simple opening mechanism. Therefore, they are ideal for fixed windows, which do not open; bay windows; or any large areas of clear glass. Essentially, lift outs are perfect for windows where regular access to the main window is not required.

Choose from a large range of options

There are few things that are as important to people than their home. Here at Sussex Glazing we know this. That is why we offer secondary glazing units that come with a wide variety of finishes, colours and frames. This means that you can decide to go with the unit that best matches your decor and meets your own needs.

Where can these units be used?

  • On individual windows that aren’t used for ventilation
  • Over the glazed panels in doors
  • Over any shaped window
